Yakshagana fest in Udupi from tomorrow

The Karnataka Yakshagana Bayalata Academy will organise a two-day ‘Yakshagana Bayalata Ranga Sambhrama’ at Rajangana here from Thursday. It will begin with a performance by the principal of Yaskhagana Kendra Bannanje Sanjeeva Suvarna and his group at 11 a.m.

This will be followed by a lecture on Yakshagana by writer M. Prabhakar Joshi at noon.

Ten persons connected to the field of Yakshagana and who had contributed to different walks of life would be felicitated at 10 a.m. on the second day.

The event will conclude with the Yakshagana performance ‘Jambavati Kalyana’ (Tenku Thittu) by Sri Yakshadeva Mitra kala Mandali at 7 p.m.

M. Mohan Alva, president of Alva's Educational Foundation, Moodabidri, will inaugurate the event.
