A woman riding pillion on a two-wheeler died after the motorcycle she was travelling by was hit by a tractor near Tattavalu village in Arkalgud taluk on Friday.
The victim has been identified as Gowramani (40), wife of Devaraju and resident of Tattavalu.
Ms. Gowramani was going to Basavapatna from her village when the incident occurred. As she suffered serious injuries in the accident, she was first taken to a government hospital at Arkalgud, where the doctors advised the family members that she be taken to Hassan Institute of Medical Sciences here.
However, she died on the way to Hassan. Konanur police have registered the complaint filed by Vishakanthappa, a relative of the victim.
