August 04, 2015 12:00 am | Updated March 29, 2016 01:04 pm IST - MYSURU:

Wind power generation in the State has been hit, as a loss of 1,500 MW has been reported.

Muniraju, Chief Engineer, Operations and Maintenance, Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC), Mysuru told The Hindu that a drop in wind power generation affected electricity supply across the State, resulting in load-shedding in areas under CESC.

On the contrary, the wind speed is usually high during the ‘Ashada’ season and the contribution to the State power grids from the wind power stations was generally encouraging.

But, there are reports of drop in wind power generation and the exact cause for loss of generation was not known.
