Unauthorised absence: teacher dismissed

The government has dismissed a teacher for alleged unauthorised absence of four years and has suspended four others on various charges.

Varsha Rani, assistant teacher in the government primary school in Kherda, has allegedly remained absent for four years, without taking leave or informing senior officials.

She has been dismissed after a departmental inquiry established the facts.

Srinivas Jaje of Srimali village in Bhalki taluk has been suspended on the charge of financial misappropriation, Ravishankar Krishnamurthy has been suspended for alleged unauthorised absence for over two months.

Raghunath Rao of Beeri B. village in Bhalki has been suspended on the charge of financial irregularities and Vithal Reddy of Karakanahalli in Humnabad has been suspended on the charge of falsely claiming financial incentives by fudging records to show that he underwent vasectomy.

Additional inquiries have been ordered in all cases, said a release by N. Chandre Gowda, deputy director of public instructions.
