Two youths suffered serious injuries when their two-wheeler was hit by a car near Kalkere in Hassan taluk on Wednesday evening.
According to the police, the car belonged to H. Kantharaj, Chairperson of Karnataka State Backward Classes Commission.
The injured, Abhi and Manu, were returning to Kalkere after a visit to a nearby village, when the accident took place.
The injured have been admitted to a hospital in Hassan. The police said Mr. Kantharaj was not in the vehicle when the incident occurred.
The Hassan Rural police have registered a case.
