Trains cancelled due to Gujjar agitation

The blocking of railway tracks by Gujjars in Kota Division of West Central Railway in Rajasthan continues to affect the movement of trains to southern parts of the country. Several trains have been cancelled, said a release from Southern Railways here.

The cancelled trains are: Train No. 12218 Chandigarh – Kochuveli Express scheduled to leave Chandigarh at 8.55 a.m. on May 27; Train No. 12483 Kochuveli – Amritsar Express scheduled to leave Kochuveli at 9.20 a.m. on May 27; Train No. 22633 Thiruvananthapuram – Nizamuddin weekly super fast scheduled to leave Thiruvananthapuram Central at 2.30 p.m. on May 27 and Train No. 22655 Thiruvananthapuram – Nizamuddin Express scheduled to leave Thiruvananthapuram Central at 1 a.m. on May 27.

Superfast special being run

The Southern Railway has proposed to run a superfast special train between Thiruvananthapuram Central and Panvel via Konkan route on May 27. The measure is taken to alternate arrangement for the cancelled trains owing to the Gujjar agitation at Dumaria station in West Frontier Railway.

Train No. 06060 Thiruvananthapuram – Panvel Superfast Special Train, has left Thiruvananthapuram Central at 2.30 p.m. on May 27, stopping at Thrissur (8 p.m.), Shoranur(9.15 p.m.), Kozhikode(10.55 p.m.), Kannur (12.20 a.m. on May 28), Kasaragod (1.23 a.m.), Mangaluru Junction(2.30 a.m.), Madgaon (8.15 a.m.) and arriving at Panvel at 6.05 a.m. on May 28.

This special service will have two 2-tier AC coaches, four 3-tier AC coaches, six sleeper class coaches, four unreserved coaches and two luggage-cum-brake vans.
