Though the country has made significant progress in science and technology, a majority of our young talent is flying to other countries seeking better jobs and opportunities. It’s the responsibility of the government to ensure that they stay back here and contribute to the development of the nation, Sri Basavamurthy Madar Chennaiah Swami has said.
Speaking at a CET coaching programme organised by the district unit of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishat here on Friday, he said that youth played a crucial role in the overall development of the nation and if the government took steps to tap their talent, India would reach the top position in every field in the next few decades.
As a first step, the government should take steps to stop commercialisation of education by issuing clear instructions to educational institutions and teachers to avoid compulsory tuition classes and collection of donations in the name of development.
G.H. Tippareddy, MLA, said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi needed more time to rectify the mistakes committed by the United Progressive Alliance government in the last one decade. “Mr. Modi will definitely take steps to stop the youth from going abroad in search of better opportunities,” he added.
