S.K. Arun is Ballari’s new Wildlife Warden

Dr. S.K. Arun, a leading laparoscopic surgeon and a wildlife photographer, has been appointed as the Wildlife Warden for Ballari for a term of two years.

The government had passed an order to this effect on October 27, 2014.

Dr. Arun has been involved with wildlife photography and conservation activities for the past several years. He is also the convenor of Bellary Nature Club, formed with an aim of propagating wildlife conservation and education.

He has undergone naturalist training programme conducted by the Forest Department in addition to be trained as a ‘certified Eco-volunteer’, conducted by Eco Tourism Board and Forest Department. He was also part of the tiger censes and bird count census in the tiger reserves of the State.

As a wildlife photographer, he has photographed and documented rare birds in and around Ballari district and many of his works have been published in leading magazines.
