Karnataka Chief Minister and KPCC president will campaign for the Congress candidate from Bangalore Rural Lok Sabha constituency D.K. Suresh

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and KPCC president G. Parameshwara will campaign for the Congress candidate from Bangalore Rural Lok Sabha constituency D.K. Suresh in Kunigal in Tumkur district on Monday.

Addressing a press conference in Kunigal on Sunday, Law Minister and district in-charge T.B. Jayachandra expressed the confidence that the Congress will win the two Lok Sabha seats in the by-elections.

He said that the Janata Dal (Secular) had adopted “backdoor politics” in the Assembly elections to grab power but did not succeed and now its State unit president H.D. Kumaraswamy was losing sleep over his failed attempt.

He said that the Janata Dal(S) national president H.D. Deve Gowda was always in the habit of saying that “this is my last election” before any election and would appeal to people to vote for him while shedding crocodile’s tears. But the people have seen through his politics and this time they will teach the Janata Dal(S) a lesson.

He said that the Janata Dal(S) had struck an internal agreement with BJP and Mr. Deve Gowda’s family was still hungry for power as indicated by its decision to field one of his family members for the by-elections. He appealed to voters to defeat the Janata Dal(S) candidate Anita Kumaraswamy who, he said, had not visited the constituency even once before the by-elections and instead support the Congress candidate.
