Bengaluru: If you want to catch a collection of witty and satirical cartoons, head over to the Indian Institute of Cartoonists this week.

As many as 65 engaging cartoons by noted cartoonist Satish Acharya will be on display till February 14. Mr. Acharya’s latest cricket-cartoon book ‘Non-Striker’ was launched here on Saturday.

The 200-page book comprises about 180 cartoons that depict iconic cricketers across the globe and also captures the prominent moments of cricket over the last six years. Mr. Acharya, who has been a cartoonist for over 20 years, said that the intention behind the exhibition was to connect to readers through his cartoons and inspire them.

His personal inspiration, he pointed out, were renowned cartoonists Mario Miranda and R K Laxman, who recently passed away. Remembering RK Laxman’s cartoons, Mr. Acharya said: “He was my Dronacharya and I was among the thousands of Ekalavyas. Mr. Laxman will continue to live through cartoons always,” he said.

The exhibition, which was inaugurated by cartoonist Prabhakar Raobai, is open from 10 am to 6 pm at the Institute, located off M.G. Road.
