The anticipatory bail plea of the accused in the rape and dowry harassment case filed by the daughter of a retired IAS officer, against her in-laws, was adjourned till Saturday.

The hearing of the bail pleas was taken up in the 7th Additional District Judge on Friday. When Public Prosecutor Mahantappa sought time to file objections, the judge adjourned the hearing of the case to Saturday.

The daughter of the retired IAS officer had accused her parents in-law of harassing her for dowry and levelled charges of rape against her brother-in-law.

The lawyers representing the accused had filed two separate anticipatory bail plea petitions. While one pertained to the complainant’s father-in-law and mother-in-law, the other pertains to her brother-in-law.

The complaint is being investigated by the V.V. Puram police in Mysuru. The complainant had lodged a complaint in Indiranagar police station in Bengaluru before a fresh complaint was made in Mysuru.
