The former Chairman of the Karnataka State Minorities Commission Anwar Manippady has accused the Minority Welfare Department of “falsely implicating” officer Ateeq Ahmed in a financial transaction while he was only trying to avoid “misuse” of government funds by members of the Karnataka State Haj Committee.

In a letter to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, he has alleged that the officer was being implicated for supporting him during his tenure as chairperson of the board in his attempt to expose the malpractices in the Waqf Board.

Mr. Ahmed served as secretary, Karnataka State Minorities Commission, during his tenure, and also held additional charge as Chief Executive Officer, Karnataka State Haj Committee.
