There was no respite for the people of Hyderabad-Karnataka and Bombay-Karnataka regions from severe heat wave conditions. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the day temperature remained above normal in a majority of places in these regions.
As per the readings by IMD at 8.30 a.m. on Monday, Kalaburagi was sweltering with the mercury shooting up to 41 degrees Celsius, followed by Bidar recording maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius.
Bagalkote, Raichur, Vijayapura recorded maximum temperature of 38 degrees Celsius and Koppal recorded maximum temperature of 39 degrees Celsius.
The night temperature also continued to be oppressive in Hyderabad Karnataka region with Kalaburagi and Bidar recording the highest minimum temperature of 28 degrees Celsius and Raichur recording minimum temperature of 27 degrees Celsius.
