The BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi will be attending the valedictory of the year-long Golden Jubilee celebrations of KLE University’s J.N. Medical College here on December 19.
Announcing this here on Thursday, KLEU Chairman and Rajya Sabha member Prabhakar Kore said the celebrations would include an alumni meet, which would witness participation from a large number of past JNMC students.
During the yearlong celebrations on the campus, a different event was conducted by each department of the college. In addition, community welfare programmes such as free health check-up camps were conducted in all ten taluks in the district and other parts of southern Maharashtra, wherein nearly 40,000 patients were benefitted. Needy patients belonging to poor families were operated upon free of cost at the KLE Prabhakar Kore Charitable Hospital in the city.
An exhibition to create awareness about medical sciences and healthy habits was held. The year was also marked by a grand intercollegiate students’ fest (cultural and sports meet) which was attended by more than 2,000 students from 30 professional colleges from all over the country, he added.
