A mob of over 100 people tied up four youth and beat them up suspecting them to be kidnappers in Aralimatti village in Gokak taluk on Wednesday. One of them has been seriously injured and has been admitted to the Gokak government hospital.
The four youth from Raichur were on the run with a girl from the village. She was to be married in a few days. But she was in love with one of the youths’ friends and they wanted to pre-empt her marriage. They wanted to take her to Raichur and get her married to their friend.
The police on hearing about the incident rescued the youth. A case has been registered in Kulgod police station.
