: Rural Development and Panchayat Raj minister H.K. Patil visited a well near Dulhan Darwaja in Patal Nagari in Bidar that has started yielding water after Nirmiti Kendra officials cleaned it on Monday.

The Minister spoke to residents of the area, such as Irshad Ahmed, who said that they were collecting water from the mini-water supply tank filled with water from the well on the Bidar-Ashtur Road. They said that the tank was filled once every day and women queued up to collect water.

Mr. Patil got details of the work from Deputy Commissioner Anurag Tewari and Nirmiti Kendra project manager Anil Kulkarni. The Deputy Commissioner said that the district administration had completed cleaning and dredging of 70 open wells and 30 large tanks and half of those water bodies were yielding water now. He said that at least 20 wells in the city were yielding water. Around five wells were yielding more than one lakh litres of water, he said.

Bidar Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Pavan Kumar Malpati, and Joint Director of Agriculture S.K. Ziaulla were present.
