Basavaraj Sappannavar, District and Session Judge, Koppal, has awarded seven years rigorous imprisonment to Sharnappa after convicting him of raping a minor girl and imposed a fine on him.
Sharnappa had raped a minor girl a year ago by promising to marry her. He had taken the girl on her way to school to Bengaluru and other places and committed the offence. A case was registered in Yelburga police station and a charge sheet filed under IPC and also under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences.
