The Judicial Magistrate First Class II (special court for hearing Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Prevention of Atrocities cases) posted to Thursday the final orders on the bail applications of three nursing students, Krishna Priya, Athira and Lakshmi, accused in the alleged ragging incident in which a Kerala dalit student was forced to drink toilet cleaner.
Magistrate M. Premavathi heard the plea of the prosecution and the defence here on Wednesday.
Prosecution Shafeer Ahmed opposed the bail application of the three students on the plea that the detailed statement of the victim, K.P. Aswathy, recorded by the Karnataka police team on Monday needed to be considered before passing orders. The defence represented by Avinash Uplaonkar pleaded for the passing of bail application in the favour of the students.
