Rohini Sindhuri, Chief Executive Officer of Mandya Zilla Panchayat, on Wednesday instructed the officials concerned to identify suitable land for the construction of warehouses at gram panchayat level in the district.

Addressing the officials of various departments, during the quarterly meeting to review the implementation of the Karnataka Development Programme (KDP)here, Ms. Sindhuri said that there are provisions to construct warehouses at 231 places in Mandya district.

The State government is granting Rs. 10 lakh for the construction of each warehouse, she added.

The officer has also instructed the officials to complete the ongoing developmental projects, including construction of toilets at schools, and making a list of persons with disabilities to reach them social security scheme benefits.

Meanwhile, the meeting witnessed arguments between Assistant Executive Engineer Chandrahas, zilla panchayat, and Standing Committee president K.S. Vijayananda.

When the discussion on constructing toilets at government school was in progress, Mr. Vijayananda wanted to know about the status of constructing a toilet at the government high school at Modachakanahalli.

Mr. Chandrahas accused Mr. Vijayananda of politicising the issue and alleged that the process of constructing the toilet was delayed due to his interference.

Irked by the argument Mr. Vijayananda walked out of the venue for a while. However, he returned after some time.

ZP president Lalitha presided over the meeting. Vice-president Chandrakala and others were among those present at the meeting.
