Government offices, hospital in Kolar to have solar power units

A number of major government offices and district hospital in Kolar will soon have solar power units to tide over the power shortage.

A plan has been chalked out to install the units at a cost of Rs. 2 crore on rooftops of four offices, Deputy Commissioner K.V. Thrilokchandra has said.

The solar power units will be installed on the rooftops of zilla panchayat office, Sri Narasimha Raja District Hospital, office of District Health and Family Welfare and taluk office in the first phase, Mr. Thrilokchandra said.

There was huge demand for power at SNR Hospital and the proposed solar power generation unit will help in meeting the demand, he said.
