The Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha (KRRS) is organising ‘Vidhana Soudha Chalo’ on April 28 to put forward various demands of farmers and to oppose the Land Acquisition Ordinance.

The KRRS convened a meeting to discuss the proposed protest here on Tuesday in which it decided to send at least 10,000 farmers from the district.

Addressing the farmers, president of the government-run Pandavapura Sahakara Sakkare Karkhane (PSSK), K.S. Nanjunde Gowda, said that the sangha will stage the protest in Bengaluru against the anti-farmer policies of the Union and State governments.

“We will strongly oppose the ordinance that would favour the multinational companies,” he said.

The State government should supply pure drinking water to parched villages and make suitable amendments to the Karnataka Land Revenue Act to protect the interests of ‘Bagair Hukum farmers’, who are cultivating on government land, he demanded.
