Deepa Soundarya, an exhibition of traditional lamps for Deepavali (Festival of Lights), began at Prathima Gallery in Mysore on Friday.
The exhibition will be held till November 4, and is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Ramsons Kala Prathistana has organised the expo at Prathima Gallery, 91, above Aamrapali on Nazarabad Main Road.
The annual exhibition has myriad lamps for the festive season, including diyas made from clay, terracotta, brass, aluminium, ceramics, and copper, in a variety of colours and shapes. The traditional lamps have been collected from across six States — Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh, and displayed in aesthetic arrangements.
There is also a good range of plain clay diyas available at the exhibition; in addition, visitors can peruse and buy electric diyas.
