CPI(M) to protest against Barack Obama’s arrival

Members of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) have decided to stage a protest here on January 24 against the visit of the U.S. President, Barak Obama to India in connection with the Republic Day Celebrations on January 26.

Mr. Obama is scheduled to visit India on January 26 for the Republic Day celebrations.

BJP criticised

It may recalled that earlier, Prime Ministere Narendra Modi had invited the U.S. President.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, CPI (M) district secretary G. Ramakrishna criticised the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance government for inviting Mr. Obama to the Republic Day programme.

Huge participation

Hundreds of activists from across the district will participate in the ‘Go Back Obama’ protest, he said. T.L. Krishne Gowda and others were present.
