The Mysore City Corporation Commissioner has set September 20 as the deadline for residents to rein in their cattle from straying into city limits, obstructing movement of vehicles and people.
A statement released here on Saturday said that if care was not exercised to contain the animals from moving into the city limits, they would be caught by the MCC authorities and shifted to Pinjrapole, an animal shelter in the city.
In spite of warnings issued to residents on several occasions, they let their animals roam in the city. The same rule would apply to other animals, such as donkeys, horses and pigs, he said.
