The body of a 30-year-old man was found hanging from a wooden beam in a pump house in Irksandra village in Gubbi taluk, Tumakuru district, on Saturday morning.
The police said that the deceased had been identified as Jayanna (30) of Irksandra. He had left the house at 9.30 p.m. on Friday night.
When he did not return home, relatives and friends searched for him and found his body in the pump house.
The relatives have alleged that he had been murdered by the candidate whom he was campaigning against in the gram panchayat elections.
