Chief Minister Sidddaramaiah and Congress in-charge for Karnataka K.C. Venugopal at the launch of an app ‘CM Speaks’ in Bengaluru on Saturday.

Continuing his attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Janata Dal (Secular), Chief Minister Siddarmaiah said that they are on the losing side in the Assembly election and their strategy of forming a coalition government is nothing but an “illusion”.

Speaking at the release of a mobile app, ‘CM Speaks’, here on Saturday, the Chief Minister said both the BJP and the JD(S) had realised that they were not in a position to gain majority. The situation of a hung Assembly would not arise after the elections, he said.

The BJP has nothing to claim about its achievements either at the centre or in the States it ruled during 2008-13.

They are resorting to reeling out ‘lies’ against the State government and misleading the voters, Mr Siddaramaiah said.

“Now they (BJP and JD-S) are working out a strategy on forming a coalition government believing that no party will secure a majority of seats). But it is nothing but an illusion and they will realise it soon,” he said. He said that the JD(S) was confined only to a few districts and at the best would win a few seats in some pockets.

K.C. Venugopal, Congress in-charge for Karnataka, challenged the BJP to compare the development works by the previous BJP government and the present government.

The Congress would win 130 Assembly seats, he said.

The mobile app leverages augmented reality technologies and the software enables the user to see a life-size image of the Chief Minister.
