Bar Association members protested in Belagavi on Thursday, against the attack on Lokayukta Justice Vishwanath Shetty.

They alleged that the State government had neglected the institution of Lokayukta and failed to provide enough security to the judge. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah should provide the highest level of security to the judge and ensure such incidents do not recur, they said.

S. S Kivudasannavar, president, Praveen Agasagi, general secretary, and others were present.

A similar petition was given by ABVP members too. Girish Badiger and others sought protection for the Lokayukta and other judges. They expressed concern at the law and order situation in the State.
