Kagodu Thimmappa, Revenue Minister, has said that steps will be taken to clear bagair hukum application forms in the State within three months and disciplinary action will be initiated against officers who fail to clear pending applications in time.
Speaking after distributing property papers to bagair hukum farmers and certificates to beneficiaries of different government schemes at Metikurke village, in Hiriyur taluk of the district, here on Tuesday, he said that owing to sustained efforts, a considerable level of transparency and punctuality has been brought in to the functioning of the revenue departments in all districts of the State.
He said that officers had been instructed not to make farmers wait for days to get bagair hukum lands cleared.
“Tahsildars in all taluks have been given the authority to issue property rights to bagair hukum applicants at the earliest. Once the tahsildars receive applications in this regard, they should cross verify all necessary documents and conduct spot inspections before clearing the applications and issuing property rights,” he added.
The Minister said that a total of 700 applications in Hiriyur taluk of the district were pending and officers concerned have been instructed to clear the same within three months. D. Sudhakar, MLA, should take the initiative to clear these applications by holding meetings with officers concerned at regular intervals, he added.
Criminal cases will be filed against officers who try to vacate farmers from bagair hukum lands or harass them. The farmer can approach the concerned tahsildar in case of such acts by officials of any department.
Mr. Sudhakar presided over the event. B.N. Chandrappa, MP, Srirangaiah, Deputy Commissioner, Raghavendra, Assistant Commissioner, and taluk panchayat members were present.
