An 80-year-old woman died of serious injuries after a bear attacked her behind her house in Gundinapalya in Koratagere taluk of Tumakuru district on Friday.
She has been identified as Narasamma. She had gone to relieve herself in the open space behind her house when the bear attacked her around 9 a.m., causing serious injuries. She was immediately taken to Koratagere taluk hospital and then was shifted for further treatment to Tumakuru district government hospital.
Range Forest Officer Chinnappa said Narasamma succumbed to injuries in the Tumakuru district government hospital around 2.45 p.m. She had sustained injuries on her stomach, thighs and legs.
