‘Jana para utsav’ in Bidar

A colourful procession marked the inauguration of ‘Jana Para Utsav’ in Bidar on Saturday. Over 45 folk art teams from different districts performed along the three-kilometre route.

There were Karadi Majalu, Tamate Vadya and Puja Kunita teams from Davangere, Mandya and Mysuru, Goravara Kunita team from Haveri, Maruti drum band from Harihar, Lezim team from Jambigi in Bidar and Janti Kunita team from Mannalli.

The iconic all-women Dollu Kunita troupe from Shivamogga that has been attending Bidar Utsav for a decade now, was also present.

District in-charge Minister Eshwar Khandre, MLA Rahim Khan, MLC Raghunath Malkapure, Deputy Commissioner H.R. Mahadev, SP Prakash Nikam and others were present.
