Joshi leaked PAC report to media: Moily

April 30, 2011 12:54 am | Updated November 17, 2021 02:48 am IST - MANGALORE:

Union Minister of Law and Justice M. Veerappa Moily alleged here on Friday that Public Accounts Committee chairman Murli Manohar Joshi leaked the draft report on the 2G spectrum allocation scam to the media without finalising it with the Committee.

In an informal chat with presspersons at Mangalore University, where he was attending a function, Mr. Moily said a privilege motion could be moved against Mr. Joshi. Alleging that Mr. Joshi had leaked the report for political reasons, Mr. Moily called the act unconstitutional and undemocratic. Mr. Joshi was the first chairman of the PAC to do so, he alleged.

The Minister alleged that Mr. Joshi had prepared the report on his own, without consulting other members.
