Amid repeated ceasefire violations by Pakistan, Defence Minister Arun Jaitley on Sunday said there had been a series of “provocations” by the Pakistani Army and the country’s armed forces were “responding adequately.”

“I have said yesterday [on Saturday] and repeating it today [Sunday] that there have been a series of provocations from the Pakistani Army in the last few days,” he told reporters on the sidelines of a function to inaugurate the Murshidabad campus of the Management Development Institute (MDI).

He said the country’s armed forces on the LoC and the BSF on the international border were “fully protecting both our territory and people.”

“Whatever response is required, are being adequately made by them,” the Defence Minister said.
