“The mantra of unity should always be the medium of our thinking, our behaviour and expression,” Mr. Modi said in his radio programme ‘Mann ki Baat’.

“India is full of diversity. It has different sects, different religions, different languages and different castes. There are so many diversities in our India and this diversity is our beauty,” the Prime Minister said in his 35-minute programme.

'India played big role in Africa’s capacity building'

Mr. Modi said India “has played a big role in capacity building in Africa” and “both share several similarities”.

“India and Africa have deep relations. Their population is as much as we have... Together we are one—third of the world’s population.”

The Indo-Africa Forum Summit 2015 is due to be held in the national capital from October 26.

Representatives of 54 African nations including heads of state and government of around 40 countries and powerful African Union are expected to participate in the four-day India-Africa Summit beginning here on October 26.
