Gyanendra Bandgaiyan to head good governance think tank

Economist Gyanendra D. Bandgaiyan was on Wednesday appointed Director-General of National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG), a think tank on good governance reforms.

Mr. Bandgaiyan, ex-chief economist of the United Nations Development Programme, has been appointed for a period of three years which is extendable by another two years or up to 60 years of age, an order issued by Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) said.

The 54-year-old Bandgaiyan, a former IAS officer of the Union Territories cadre, hails from Madhya Pradesh.

The NCGG, an autonomous institution under the administrative control of the DoPT, is the apex think tank of the country that guides and helps implement good governance reforms through research, policy analysis, advocacy and capacity building.
