The CPI (M) would decide on its strategy for the Presidential election only after the UPA announced its nominee, party Polit Bureau member Brinda Karat on Monday said.
“The UPA should first announce its nominee and a decision will be taken only after that,” she told reporters here.
NCP leader and former Lok Sabha Speaker P A Sangma, being backed by BJD and AIADMK for the President’s post, had on May 22 met CPI (M) general secretary Prakash Karat seeking the party’s support.
