Both Houses prorogued

Both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, adjourned sine die last week, have been prorogued by President Pranab Mukherjee.

Lok Sabha was adjourned sine die on September 6 and the Upper House a day later.

Both the Houses met for a month with the sittings being extended for six days in case of Rajya Sabha and for five days in case of Lok Sabha.

During the session, the landmark Food Security and Land Acquisition Bills were passed.
