6 CRPF men injured as militants strike near Srinagar

The attack comes just a day after a policeman was killed and 11 others were injured in a grenade attack by militants in Srinagar's Nowhatta area.

Six CRPF personnel were injured in an attack by militants on a patrol manning the highway at Pantha Chowk, near Srinagar, on Monday afternoon.

Preliminary reports suggest that gunshots were heard at Pantha Chowk.

Locals told The Hindu they heard heavy exchange of fire in the area around 3:30 p.m. Both the police and the CRPF were not confirming any casualties.
