The Red Sanders Anti Smuggling Task Force (RSASTF) conducted a workshop on ‘Role of Media in Red Sanders Protection’ at their headquarters here on Friday.

The officials and members from media fraternity shared their views on a wide range of issues such as stages of red sanders smuggling, terminology used for reporting the incidents in print and electronic media, strategies followed by the smugglers, and concentration of endemic red sanders across the Seshachalam forests.

The officials later gave a broad picture on the entry and exit points, escort (pilot)/transportation vehicles, local and international smugglers nabbed by the task force (in coordination with police and forest department officials), history of exchange of fire and other aspects related to smuggling activities in the region.
