A woman, Sankari Bai, who stopped at a well to drink water while getting grass for her cattle, slipped into coma, after being allegedly attacked by a villager, Dasari Telugu Pullaiah, in Gani village in Gadivemula mandal in Kurnool district on Saturday.

As she did not return home, her family members launched a search and found her lying in an unconscious state with bleeding injuries, and shifted her to a hospital in Kurnool. Kurnool SP A. Ravikrishna visited the hospital and enquired with her family members about the incident. He instructed the Nandyal police to nab the culprits expeditiously.
