The Krishna district police registered a case against Nuzvid Mandal Revenue Officer (MRO) D. Vanajakshi under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, for allegedly using abusive language against a person over phone.

Irked over the rude response of the MRO, the complainant, Uday Bhaskar, who approached court. Responding to the petition, a Nuzvid court directed the police to register a case.

Ms. Vanajakshi, who worked as Musunuru MRO in 2015, was in the news when a group of DWCRA women allegedly supported by Denduluru TDP MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar manhandled her, when she tried to prevent illegal sand quarrying in Tammileru stream.
