TRS MLA hits back at TDP for accusing TRS

February 12, 2015 01:18 pm | Updated May 24, 2016 12:04 pm IST - WARANGAL:

Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MLA Aruri Ramesh has condemned the accusation of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders that the TRS was behind the Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti (MRPS) that damaged the tents at the TDP meeting venue, where Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was to be present on Thursday.

The MLA said that the TDP used the MRPS during Mr. Naidu's padayatra in Telangana for protection and hoodwinked them later. The TDP exploited the MRPS for two decades and did not honour their demand for categorisation of the Scheduled Castes. Enraged MRPS cadre resorted to violence and the TRS had nothing to do with it, he added.

Mr. Naidu should now respond to the demand of the MRPS, he opined. Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had passed a resolution supporting the MRPS demand in the first session of State Assembly, he observed.
