The temple of Lord Venkateswara and the mada streets have been spruced up for the nine-day annual Brahmotsavams scheduled to begin on Saturday.
Exclusive entry and exit points have been set up for the benefit of devotees entering the mada streets. Also, arrangements for supply of drinking water have been put in place.
The entire temple complex is being illuminated. Huge electrical images of MahaVishnu and goddess Padmavati have been set up at various vantage points.
Spiritual programmes
The TTD Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad and the Annamacharya and Dasa Sahitya Projects have lined up a series of spiritual and cultural programmes both at Asthana Mandapam as well as at the Nada Neerajan Mandapam and the garden wing has set up an exclusive photo and floral exposition on Papavinasanam road. Eminent floral artists from neighbouring States have reached the temple town to lend their expertise.
The Vahana Mandapam, from where daily processions are organised, has also been spruced up.
To lend grandeur to the processions that pass through the mada streets, additional elephants, horses and bulls have been brought from Tirupati.
Keeping the common devotees in mind, the TTD has dispensed with arjitha sevas besides limiting issuance of special darshan tickets.
The TTD has resolved to keep darshan lines open all thorough the day with brief intervals for naivedyam and other obligatory rituals.
Garuda seva
The Brahmostavams begin with ‘dhwajarohanam’ on Saturday evening. Garuda seva will be observed on September 27, the procession of the golden chariot the following day and rathotsavam on September 30. The festival will draw to a close with Chakrasnanam on October 1.
