The recent incident in which some students of Green Field School for the Blind in Kakinada of East Godavari district were subjected to inhuman treatment evoked strong reactions from members of the A.P. Legislative Council.

Both the correspondent and the principal were later taken into custody, and the case is under investigation.

On the action taken, the HRD Minister said the school was an unrecognised one, and that the district officials had taken measures to depute two school assistants to take care of the students till they were accommodated in another school.
