The special party formed by Superintendent of Police S.V. Rajasekhar Babu to probe into the murder of woman lawyer Nagajyothy (42) on Tuesday arrested six persons in connection with the case.
The woman lawyer was attacked by a four-member gang near the SBI Colony layout in the heart of Madanapalle town on May 30 when she was returning home after buying some provisions from a grocery store. The assailants stabbed the woman lawyer and allegedly slit her throat, resulting in her death on the spot.
‘Gang hired’
After preliminary investigation, the police on June 1 arrested her former husband Jitendra (50), who is also a noted lawyer, and named him the prime accused in the case. He had reportedly hired a the gang to execute the murder. The special party apprehended teh accused when they were moving suspiciously at a bus stand. Two accused were said to be the clients of Jitendra. The murder plan was allegedly hatched following differences between the couple.
