Even a month-and-a-half after the announcement on bifurcation, the Samaikyandhra protesters continued their stir with their focus shifted to the Central Government offices and also the offices of IAS and IPS officers.
The members of Samaikyandhra employees, students and teachers JAC held a protest demonstration at the Nellore district SP’s office here and raised slogans against the decision of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) to divide the State.
Following the mobilisation of agitators, a huge police force was deployed on the premises to prevent any untoward incident.
With the JAC leaders giving a call for stepping up protests in rural areas, the agitators in Sullurupeta organised a ‘Samaikya Garjana’ which brought life to a standstill in the coastal town near the border with Tamil Nadu. People from all walks of life came on to the SHAR road, which leads to the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) at Sriharikota.
The integrationists blocked traffic between Sullurupeta and Sriharikota, following which the employees of the space centre were stopped on the SHAR road.
