He also said the State government had granted an in principle permission to the organisation to plan and execute the programme and also draw up plans for the civil construction works.

Besides this, Mr. Bhagwat said the trust had decided to construct 300 houses in the flood-affected areas of Odisha.

Music concert

Earlier, the birth anniversary celebrations started off on a musical note with a concert by the Malladi brothers, as devotees listened to the ‘bhakti’ songs, even as chief guest and Governor of Tripura D.Y. Patil offered his prayers at the ‘Mahasamadhi’ of Sai Baba.

‘Baba my Guru’

Paying his obeisance to Baba, he said the credit of whatever he had achieved in his life went to Baba, adding that the ‘death of ego was real life’. “Bhagawan is my Father and Guru,” he said.

The Tripura Governor complemented the students of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, who he said exhibited exemplary discipline and advised them to exhibit the same discipline in all walks of life and in rendering service to humanity according to the vision of Sai Baba.

The celebration was followed by the release of the annual report of the Sri Satya Sai Trust by Mr Patil.
