The RBI Governor has conveyed his approval to the Andhra Pradesh Government’s request for rescheduling of crop loans and an official sanction letter will be issued in two days.

The good news was conveyed to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday when he telephoned the RBI Governor to follow up on the issue, said Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu and Agriculture Minister P. Pullarao here on Tuesday.

Addressing a media conference on the occasion of completing 30-days of governance, Mr.Ramakrishnudu said: “Loan waiver is the major issue we could solve within one month”. The details of rescheduling of crop loans, terms of repayment over five or seven years and other details would be known once the RBI’s sanction letter is sent. The decision on crop loan re-schedule would facilitate farmers to avail kharif loans from all banks, they said.

While farmers in 575 drought and cyclone affected mandals will be eligible for rescheduling of loans, the government would ensure that the farmers in the remaining 87 mandals would also get fresh loans.

Listing out number of other achievements of the AP government, Mr. Ramakrishnudu said that steps were being taken for uninterrupted power supply to the domestic and industry sector and nine-hour quality power supply to agriculture from October 2. Centre selected Andhra Pradesh as one of the three States for implementing 24-hour power supply scheme. It also gave permission for supply of four lakh tonnes of coal to the State.

Besides, delivering on promises of enhancing pensions to the aged, physically handicapped and others, supply of canned mineral water under NTR Sujala Sravanthi to all villages from October 2, enhancing retirement age, government initiated measures to clamp down on red sanders smuggling and belt shops, he said.

The government released a white paper on power while other papers on HRD, finance, infrastructure, industry and agriculture would be out soon. The key decisions in 30 days included linking implementation of welfare schemes to Aadhaar data base, regularisation of Simhachalam lands in the name of colony residents. The State cabinet cleared LNG projects at Visakhapatnam and Kakinada that will boost industries between the two cities.

Issuance of ordinance on merger of Polavaram submergence villages was a major milestone. A Bill would be introduced in the Parliament soon.

Mr.Parakala Prabhakar, media advisor, said in 30 days the government had taken important and speedy decisions for benefit of different sections of society as promised in the manifesto.
