Priest couple murdered in Nellore district

Unidentified miscreants murdered an aged priest couple at their residence located on the premises of Shivalayam temple at Pedacherukuru village in Nellore rural mandal limits here in the wee hours of Saturday.

Nuthalapati Chandramouleeswara Rao, 65, and his wife Pushpa Vani, 60, were found murdered in their house. The exact reason for the twin murder was not known but the assailants used a blunt weapon in the attack.

Superintendent of Police Vishal Gunni, DSP Tirumaleswara Reddy, CI Srinivasulu and other officials visited the spot. A clues team swung into action.

The elderly couple was living on the premises of the temple where their son N. Subbaiah Sastry is the main priest. Mr. Sastry is living with his family near the temple. The couple was not known to have been involved in any controversy or rivalry.
