Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghose was sworn in Chief Justice of the AP High Court by Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan here on Wednesday.
The swearing-in ceremony was held at Raj Bhavan and attended by Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, his Cabinet colleagues, Judges of the High Court and advocates, among others.
Chief Justice P.C. Ghose was born in 1952 and completed his graduation in commerce from the prestigious Xavier’s College, Kolkata, prior to his LLB from the University of Calcutta. He started his practice in 1976 at the High Court of Calcutta and was elevated as judge of the court in 1997. He led the State Legal services authorities of West Bengal and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Chief Justice Ghose was the Chairman of Institutional Ethics Committee of National Institute of Cholera and Enteric Diseases, Kolkata. He is the president of the governing body of Ramakrishna Mission Sikshana Mandir, Belur, president of the governing body of Ramakrishna Mission, Sikra Kulingram, Basirhat, West Bengal and vice president of the governing body, Swami Vivekananda Ancestral House, Ramakrishna Mission, Kolkata.
