In a scathing attack on the YSRC, Finance Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy said that there would be nothing wrong if YSRC president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy is hanged for all his misdeeds and corruption during the reign of his father, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, in the State.
The Minister made the comments at a Congress party meeting held at Indira Bhavan here on Friday. The comments came just a few days ahead of Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy’s programme to address a public meeting on SC, ST sub-plan at Sullurupeta in the district on April 14.
After addressing party workers, Mr. Ramanarayana Reddy held a press conference at the same venue. He reiterated that Jagan resorted to unprecedented corruption by indulging in large-scale illegal activities taking advantage of his father’s rule. “He has no moral right to live on earth. He looted the entire State and committed a lot of financial irregularities,” the Minister said. Mr. Ramanarayana Reddy said that as the main accused in the illegal assets case, Jagan was in jail now, but he was continuing with his political game-plan to destabilise the Congress government in the State.
The Finance Minister asserted that the government would not accept the resignation of Home Minister P. Sabitha Indra Reddy in the wake of her being included as a co-accused in the Jagan assets case. He said the law would take its own course and legal help would be provided to her from the government and the party. Mr. Ramanarayana Reddy also passed sharp comments against Jagan’s brother-in-law and evangelist Anil Kumar, saying that the latter was indulging in many irregularities. YSRC leader Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy was quick to condemn the Finance Minister’s statements, saying that Mr. Ramanarayana Reddy was speaking out of frustration in the wake of the people’s total support to Jagan. The Congress leaders would lose their deposits in the 2014 elections regardless of their many antics, he added.
